Bad sound quality in GE (model: 27958GE1-A) corded/cordless phone?
We have been using the GE (model: 27958GE1-A) corded/cordless phone for over 2 years now. It has been very good. But off late the sound quality has become bad and we do not seem to be able to guess what the issue is. Is there some thing that I could do to restore the quality – It is the reception quality – through the GE (ours) phone one cannot clearly hear what the other party is saying – there is a static sort of noise that accompanies the voice.
But when I put the phone on speaker it is marginally better. The cordless reception is equally bad – no matter where it is situated.
I am thinking maybe it requires some cleaning – or sanding the cord/wire ends or even opening it up and fixing whatever is wrong??
ALL CORDLESS PHONES HAVE CHANNEL BUTTONS ON THE RECEIVER. TRY CHANGING THE CHANNEL WHEN YOUR TALKING TO SOMEONE.. SOMETIMES ITS THE BATTERY AND IF YOUR PHONE IS 2 YEARS OLD I WOULD INVEST IN A NEW BATTERY AT RADIO SHACK OR WHEREVER.AND IF THAT DOESN’T DO IT BUY A NEW PHONE. BUT I’LL BET ITS THE BATTERY.
